This Wireless Smoke & Heat Detector features a built-in heat sensor. This allows the sensor to detect heat over 135°F which is beneficial in situations where heat reaches the sensor before any smoke. This sensor also features a 15°F Rate of Rise per minute. So if the temperature rises faster than 15°F in less than 60 seconds, typically indicating a fire, the system will detect it. The sensor is most effective in stairways between floors or in a central hallway.
